Zoë Foxley

Zoë discovered needlepoint the way many people have: her grandmother Marion was a passionate needlepointer. Throughout her childhood, she gifted Zoë many an eyeglass case. And when Zoë visited her near the end of her life, Marion explained tent stitch using her last WIP as a guide. After a family trip to Africa, Marion stitched a six-foot safari landscape which hung for many years in her son’s bedroom. It now hangs prominently in Angel City Stitchery’s Los Angeles store.

The exposure to needlepoint didn’t pique her interest in her rebellious years, but it planted a meaningful seed. It wasn’t until a few years ago that Zoë got the stitching itch. Yearning for a creative outlet, she found needlepoint. It calmed her mind, settled her nerves, and could turn random stretches of time in a day into a calming, creative ritual. She soon found herself carrying her project bag everywhere, stitching while at her daughter’s tennis practice, or on a plane for a family trip. Suddenly, an old narrative about how little time there was for creative pursuits she craved was wiped away, and that’s the magic of needlepoint. It slows time and expands moments of Zen.

What began as a creative outlet quickly turned into a genuine passion. She dove into learning stitches, exploring canvases, and connecting with stitchers across the country. Before long, needlepoint had become part of her daily rhythm—and a craft she couldn’t stop sharing with others.

At Angel City Stitchery, Zoë leads the creative vision. She curates our canvas and thread collections, develops our classes, and helps make the shop a welcoming place for stitchers at every stage—from first-time beginners to longtime enthusiasts.

Co-Founder & COO

Griff Foxley

Griff came to Angel City Stitchery the way many good things begin—by enthusiastically supporting his wife’s creative passion. After watching Zoë fall in love with needlepoint and a growing crew of allies emerging around her, he realized the craft and community was yearning for a space.

With his years of experience in entrepreneurial endeavors, including leadership roles in the specialty food world and an MBA in Sustainable Management, he dedicates his days to the operational side of the business, and the systems that help the shop run smoothly.

He’s proud to say he’s ¼ of the way through a Shohei Ohtani 18-mesh canvas (his first and only WIP), he may join in at an upcoming Sip ‘n’ Stitch or Beginner Class in the shop to get more practice. For now, he keeps busy mostly in the back office of the shop, but on weekends you’ll see him running the register as the shop gets busy.
